To all (new) Dagger Mamba owners - possible design flaw?

I'm knoting (actually norwegian word) this in english as it might have interest to other Dagger Mamba owners out there.

I bought my Mamba 8.5 in mid May and took it directly to the river to test it - and it leaked like there were a major hole in it! At first inspection I did not find any holes and I suspected my new sprayskirt. After a week I was off for three days of kayaking, and did bring a skirt I knew did not leak. But still; after a single rapid of 50 - 100 m the boat was filled with maybe 1-2 L of water!

In the evening I started looking at the boat in detail and also tried to thighten all screws - quite a few of them were loose. However one of those attaching the seat to the boat (located behind the hip-pads) did look as it was forced right through the hull of the boat.....which it unfortunately was!

So I started dismounting my boat and was a bit puzzled about what I found.

From my point of view this mounting using the threaded washer is a major design flaw from Dagger!

I guess what have happened with my boat is that during assembling, the webbing and the washer have been mounted, the screw put in place and tightened loosely. Hovewer, if tightened too hard, when mounting the left-most washer and nut the threaded washer will move all the way up to the screw head - and cause damage to the boat hull. Looking at the damage on my boat it seems like the washer on the outside has been forced through the hull - which I believe I have been unable to do considering the fact that all I've used for boat repair is the Dagger multi-tool thingey that followed the boat.

I did contact Dagger's Norwegian dealer a couple of weeks ago but have yeat not heard anything about what they can do about it.

So, this is not blogged to get even with Dagger as really enjoy my boat, but the idea was for all you Mamaba owners out there to either be careful when thightening the seat attachment, or take the boat apart and replace the washer - that's what I'll do.
